BV’s virtual LED was used on all races across the four main race meetings of the Melbourne Cup carnival since 2020.
The virtual LED was run from the 150m meter marker all the way down to the finish line. The LED movie was designed so it moved at the same speed as the camera, allowing the logo to follow the horses and stay in the shot for maximum exposure.
This is a world-first in horse racing allowing virtual LED to be inserted into places where physical LED is impossible. The virtual LED was combined with BV’s multi-region branding system to put different sponsor logos across different feeds.
The billboards were used across all races at all four meetings during the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
