Virtual Paint on the Super Rugby Coverage

BV’s virtual paint solution has been used in the Australian and New Zealand Super Rugby competitions since 2018, covering over four hundred games of Rugby Union.

The system provides a real viable alternative to painted signage which is unaffected by weather or wear. Photorealistic logos are displayed on the pitch allowing a true representation of a sponsor's logos allowing fine details and color gradients.

The virtual content is placed anywhere on the pitch and can even be changed at halftime. The system adds the signage on the two main cameras which cover the main game and the logos are also in all replays from those cameras.
